Loverbrazil entrevista / Loverbrazil interview

Olá amigos do poker!

Omaha é o futuro do poker?

A corrupção ia rolar solta.

Hello poker friends! This post today will be a little different because it will be an interview. The guest of this interview (via email) is nothing more than Silvio Peters, owner of the site Omaha Brazil http://www.omahabrasil.com/ pioneer of this fine art of playing poker the interview follows below:
First of all, thank Silvio for the interview opportunity, please be forward and tell us how was your start in poker.

Hello Marcelo. My name is Silvio Peters and I am the owner of the site Omaha Brazil. My first exposure to poker was in its infancy. My parents were playing 5-Card Draw always with the presence of another couple of friends or relatives. The game was always cheap. But as I was young, I was not interested in the game. Liked to play soccer button, Atari, running buddies (we put candle wax on the caps, the track drew with chalk on the floor and it was just joy) ...
Years later, I started getting interested gradually. I played with some friends when we traveled, but did not even know the rules right. And the chips were pieces of Noodles or beans. We played for free. Until he was spending poker on ESPN. When I saw the first broadcast here in Brazil, even before the Moneymaker be champion of the WSOP, I downloaded the Everest Poker through a community that I saw on Orkut in 2004 and started playing the famous Shasta still exist and are SIT & GO freeroll 10 people who pay 5 cents first pro.Over time I've saved $ 2 and went pros primeiros paid SIT & GO (5 cents buy-in). I was down to $ 45, to lose half a cash game I played when I got drunk for the ballad.
From there I started reading some articles, share an idea with people on Orkut, and I got six months to a bankroll of $ 2000. Always playing NL Hold'em. I was caught in his 2000 and just a good time and got to fall to $ 1000 back with a run of bad luck and bad bankroll management. But then recovered again.

What is your opinion about the episode "Black Friday"?
I think it was already asking to happen. When you think Party Poker, which was the biggest poker site in the world, bar, and Americans fall for 3rd largest site in the world ... well, they would not do it for nothing, I say, losing a big slice of a billion dollar market. So one hour, sites that accept Americans would pay the price.
It was a matter of time. Poker Stars came out almost unscathed due to the great professionalism they have.
But the bottom was good Black Friday. On the one hand there were people in the industry doing illegal things (and these have to answer to justice), on the other hand it will bring the issue of the UIGEA the agenda of the discussion again and I believe the trend is American players can play again.

Omaha poker is the future?
Omaha is the present. We were at the WSOP this year's largest registered field tournaments in Omaha. I think Omaha will never be as popular as the NL Hold'em, but today many people play, and closely studied the Omaha tournaments, both online and live. The expectation is that the popularity will increase further in coming years.
I think the peak will be when we have tournaments on Sundays Omaha majors in four or five largest sites in the world.

Casinos in Brazil, you are for or against?

I'm against it at the moment. If on one hand we had job growth and acceleration in the economy, on the other mafias would (like bingo) machines tampered with, thousands of people addicted to gambling in need of therapy and so on.Unfortunately Brazil does not have the discipline and honesty needed to do a thorough inspection. Corruption would roll loose. Some casino owners enrich and most of the population would suffer from another illness.
In the future when the country's mindset is more mature, then I am in favor. For example we could create a centralized hub of casinos in the Northeast, as a Las Vegas, coupled with an investment of infrastructure with rail and waterways come from around the country to supply this demand; Hotels ... That would be good for local tourism and enrich these states, and generate countless jobs.

Who are the players who influenced your game?
Always liked how Phil Hellmuth controls the pot. He works to put themselves in situations of lesser risk. Here in Brazil, I love Mark's style of play XT. He knows how to handle molezinhas fields, leaving the traps and know how to handle wild animals as well. The style is very versatile.
But for me the best player in the world is Phil Ivey, although not a very kind and friendly (to say the least), the ability of the face is monstrous. He can sense the slightest tells the other players and has an amazing power of concentration.

How did the idea for the site? -------------------------------------------------- -
I was not working at the time (it was in 2007). So it was a way to pass the time and try to win a graninha. I took a little alcove that was exploited to Omaha. There was - and still there, outside Omaha Brazil - no specialized site in Omaha in Brazil. So I think it helps to generate interest in the game in many people. About graninha is a graninha even if I win. Enough to pay for the site and nothing more. But the idea is next year to give a boost in the Brazilian ranking of Omaha. I have some ideas to make it more popular.

I would like you to leave a message for players who intend to play this game.
Like any strategy game, study and dedication are key. Today in Brazil we have several players who have achieved great success in this sport.
Gabriel Goffi is the greatest player of Omaha cash game in Brazil and one of the largest in the world. Felipe Mojave is the exponent of multitable Omaha tournaments, both online and live. And I hope soon to see someone who started reading the articles of Omaha Brazil succeeding in rags (virtual and real). Big hug!
